Two people were pronounced dead following a collision on Simcoe Street, south of Manilla, Saturday (Oct. 9).

According to the OPP, the two-vehicle collision occurred just before 12:30 p.m. at Concession 6 Brock.

“Both lone occupants (of the vehicles) were pronounced deceased at the scene; names will not be released until their next of kin have been notified,” reads a media release.

Police noted that Simcoe Street will remain closed for several hours for an investgation

“Detours are in place at Salem Road and Cresswell Road,” the media release reads.

Witnesses to the collision that have not yet spoken to officers are asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
