Police continue to investigate the death of a 15-year-old boy in the Fenelon Falls area.

According to the OPP, emergency personnel were called shortly after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 6).

“A 15-year-old male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The cause of death remains under investigation,” reads a media release.

“Police advise there is no immediate threat to the general public.”

While police have not identified the name of the teen, an online fundraiser has been established for the family of Austin Grills.

The initiative has raised more than $7,500 thus far.

“In this hard time I’m asking for your love and support for Austin’s dad, Ryan, and little brother who are struggling with the loss of Austin,” a post accompanying the fundraiser reads.

“Any donations will be used to help his family cover the cost of his funeral and any other associated costs with his passing. The goal of this campaign is to ease the financial burden to the family during this hard time.”
