A fatal collision Sunday (Oct. 3) has closed a stretch of Highway 35 north of Lindsay.

According to the OPP, a single-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 8 a.m.

A media release notes that the driver of the vehicle has died, while a passenger has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“Highway 35 will remain closed for several hours while police investigate. Detours are in place at Naylor Road and Long Beach Road in Cameron,” reads a media release.

The name of the deceased driver will not be released until next of kin has been notified, police noted.
