
Police are looking to track down a motorist that left the scene of a collision with a cyclist on Highway 12 in Orillia.
According to the OPP, the collision occurred just before 2 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 21) at the Monarch Drive intersection.
The cyclist was travelling westbound within the cycle lane when a vehicle entered the lane and struck the cyclist.
“The vehicle initially stopped but then left the scene without offering aid,” a media release reads.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police noted.
“Witnesses described the vehicle as a silver or grey SUV, possibly a Dodge Journey,” the media release reads.
