
Parts of Ramara Township are covered by a tornado watch issued by Environment Canada Tuesday (Sept. 14).
According to the post, conditions are favourable this afternoon for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes.
Wind gusts of up to 120 km/h are possible, with as much as 50 millimetres of rain expected to fall in an hour and frequent lightning.
“A line of severe thunderstorms is expected to move eastward across the regions this afternoon. Some of these storms will likely contain tornadoes….This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” the post reads.
“Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.”
