
Two people face charges after a dispute in Georgina over the weekend allegedly resulted in a victim being shot in the leg.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 11), York Regional Police officers responded to a weapons call in the area of Riverglen Drive and Oakmeadow Boulevard. Police say they received information that two males were involved in a dispute that escalated to the victim being shot in the leg.
The 19-year-old male victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police, noting the two suspects are known to the victim.
Kenny Francoeur, 25, of Georgina is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon, point firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
A 15-year-old from Georgina is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
