There was another closed-door meeting for Brock Township council Monday (Sept. 13).
While many of the meetings this year have involved the opposition to Durham Region’s proposed supportive housing complex in Beaverton, this session involved discuss litigation, or potential litigation, regarding property encroachments.
Regional Councillor Ted Smith questioned whether the session was covering specific properties or was more of a general discussion.
“I know there are dozens, perhaps several dozen, encroachments in the township,” he said as the meeting moved in camera.
“Both,” replied Mayor John Grant.
Regional Coun. Smith noted that the general discussion should happen in open session.
Members of council have had close to two dozen closed-door sessions so far this year.
