Victim rushed to hospital following shooting in Oshawa

A victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a shooting in Oshawa Thursday (Sept. 9) morning.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to the intersection of Ritson Road North and Bond Street East shortly before noon and located a 25-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

“Information received as part of the investigation indicates the suspect(s), fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot,” reads a media release.

“The suspect is described as male, black with short dreads.”

The intersection was closed for several hours for the police investigation.
