Fill a Purse for a Sister Campaign firing back up

Township residents are once again invited to take part in the Fill a Purse for a Sister campaign.

The annual initiative is one of the programs spearheaded by Angel’s Garage, a non-profit charitable organization.

“This campaign is dedicated to providing comfort to women through the collecting and sharing of new and gently used purses filled with personal necessities. Purses collected for the Fill A Purse For A Sister Campaign are distributed to local shelters, social agencies and crisis centres,” reads its social media page.

Local organizers collected more than 250 donations of purses, backpacks and handbags filled with essential items, exceeding last year’s total by nearly 100.

There was so much support for the campaign in Brock Township last year that organizers reached out into neighbouring communities, such as Kawartha Lakes and Ramara, to distribute the donated items.

Drop-off locations in the area include RE/MAX Country Lakes Realty in Beaverton, The Nourish and Develop Foundation in Cannington, Country Lakes in Sunderland and The Purple Door Craft and Christmas Store in Kirkfield.
