Oshawa residents facing weapons charges after being stopped by police in Lindsay

Two Oshawa residents are facing weapons charges after being stopped by police in Lindsay.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers were called to Devan Court in Lindsay for a call of a suspicious person around 6:30 Friday (Sept. 3).

“Police attended after a vehicle had entered Devan Court, a male in the vehicle had reportedly been seen in the area earlier in the day, and was witnessed carrying what was believed to be a firearm,” the media release reads.

“Officers located the vehicle on Hamilton Street and arrested the occupants.”

Jamal Blair-Henningham, 21, and Elijah Watts-Scharshmidt, 19, have been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm and unauthorized possession of weapon.

They are scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Oct. 14.
