TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Brock will hold a Special Meeting of Council via an online meeting platform for the purpose of discussing the revisions that may be required as part of the Township’s Official Plan Review, pursuant to the requirements of 26(3) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended.

The Official Plan provides direction for the growth and development of the community and where land uses (e.g. residential, commercial, industrial, parks) should be located. The Official Plan Review is an opportunity to update the Official Plan to reflect changes within the community and in Provincial and Regional planning policies.
ONLINE MEETING FORMAT: Should you wish to speak or provide comments at the Special Meeting, please register with the Clerk’s Department in advance of the meeting by emailing clerks@brock.ca. Individuals who do not register in advance will be permitted to speak at the meeting.
A link to join the meeting will be posted at least five (5) business days in advance of the meeting at http://www.townshipofbrock.ca. All individuals who wish to make oral comments will have not more than five (5) minutes in total. Should you have any questions about how to participate in the Special Meeting, please email clerks@brock.ca or call 705-432-2355 and request the Clerks department.
WRITTEN COMMENTS: Please submit written comments to planning@brock.ca on or before noon on September 13, 2021. Comments may also be mailed or dropped off at the Township Office at 1 Cameron Street East, Cannington, ON L0E 1E0.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Township of Brock is undertaking the legislated review of its Official Plan as required by the Planning Act. The Township’s current Official Plan was approved by the Regional Municipality of Durham in 2007. The Official Plan Review will update and refine the goals, objectives, policies, and schedules of the Official Plan to ensure that it is consistent with the 2020 Provincial Policy Statement, conforms with the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe 2019, conforms with the Durham Region Official Plan and reflects matters of local interest.
THE SUBJECT LANDS include all lands located within the Township of Brock municipal boundary.
ANY PERSON may attend the Special Meeting of Council and/or make written or verbal representation regarding what revisions may be required as part of a proposed update to the Township’s Official Plan.
