One person has died after a collision on Highway 35 in Kawartha Lakes. 

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 2), Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 35, south of Highway 7A. 

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger was injured and taken to hospital. 

Police say the highway is currently closed between Highway 7A East and Waite Road as the investigation continues. The public is asked to avoid the area.
