Six people injured in Uxbridge collision

Six people were taken to hospital following a four-vehicle collision in Uxbridge Sunday (Aug. 8) evening.

Investigators are also looking to track down the occupants of a pickup truck that was reportedly involved in the collision and left the scene.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to the intersection of Lake Ridge Road and Goodwood Road around 9:15 p.m.

“A white Ford F150 pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Goodwood Road at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a white Ford Escape, forcing the Escape into the intersection where it collided with two additional vehicles,” reads a media release from the DRPS.

“The white Ford F150 left the roadway following the collision where it burst into flames. The occupants of the Ford F150 were able to exit the vehicle; however, they fled the scene on foot before police arrived.”

Police say the Ford F150 was reported as stolen from Lindsay earlier in the day.

The occupants of the vehicle are described as:

Occupant 1: female, white, approximately 25 to 30 years of age with a slender build with dark hair.

Occupant 2: male, white, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, with blonde hair partially shaved on the sides and a medium build.

Police say the couple had a medium-sized dog with them, possibly a golden retriever.

Six people involved in the collision were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Four adults and a 14-year-old were taken to a local hospital, while a two-year-old was transported to a Toronto-area hospital.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5217 or Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
