Motorcyclist pronounced dead following collision in Pickering

A motorcyclist was pronounced dead following a collision in Pickering Sunday (Aug. 8) evening.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle and motor vehicle just before 11 p.m.

“The motorcycle had been travelling eastbound on Cameo Street near Sapphire Drive when it collided with a westbound motor vehicle,” reads a media release.

Police say the driver of motorcycle — a 34-year-old man — was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the motor vehicle was uninjured.
