
Police say a child was found in the backseat of a vehicle that was allegedly travelling more than 50 km/h over the posted limit by an impaired driver in Oshawa.
According to the DRPS, an officer clocked the vehicle driving 135 km/h though an 80-km/h zone on Simcoe Street shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 5).
“A roadside sobriety test confirmed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and the female driver was arrested,” reads a media release.
The driver – whose name has not been released – has been charged with exceed 80 mgs, stunt driving and speeding.
The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days and the suspect’s licence has been suspended for seven days.
