More than 20 people facing charges following Georgina drug probe

Police have laid more than 80 charges against 23 people following an investigation that targeted suspects trafficking cocaine and Fentanyl in Georgina.

According to the York Regional Police, the investigation – dubbed Project Heater — took place between Feb. 1 and June 15.

“Through the investigation, officers were able to identify multiple suspects. Search warrants were executed at four residential homes in Georgina as well as four residential homes and two businesses in the City of Toronto,” reads a media release.

Officers reportedly seized nearly $100,000 worth of illicit drugs – including 117 grams of Fentanyl,291 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of MDMA, 13 MDMA capsules, 7.5 pounds of cannabis marijuana, 519 grams of psilocybin and 30 Oxycocet pills.

“In addition, $94,790 of Canadian currency was seized,” the media release reads.
