
A Trent Lakes resident has been charged after a vehicle backed into the Scugog River in Lindsay Monday (July 26) night.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers were called to Water Street shortly after 9:45 p.m. after a vehicle had reportedly reversed into the Scugog River.
“Officers located the vehicle with its rear end submerged in the river. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer determined the driver was impaired and placed her under arrest,” reads a media release.
Michelle Cameron, 49, of Trent Lakes has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
She is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Sept. 2.
