A 22-year-old baker from Fenelon Falls won more than $100,000 in a LOTTO MAX draw last month.
Alicia Saunby of Fenelon Falls matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the June 15 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000. She also won $20 and $2 on her other LOTTO MAX and ENCORE selections, bringing her total winnings to $100,022.
A resident of Little Britain won $1 million in a draw four days earlier.
Saunby says she is not a regular lottery player and purchased this ticket as a fluke.
“I couldn’t pay for gas at the pump, so I went inside the store and ended up purchasing a ticket when I saw the jackpot was at $70 million,” she shared with OLG.
Alicia checked her ticket using the OLG Lottery App days after the draw.
“I saw Big Winner and my jaw dropped,” said the avid reader and animal lover.
“I was so shocked – I showed my mom right away. She’s an educational assistant and was in an online class. She told her class her daughter won the lottery and she had to go,” laughed Saunby.
The baker plans to pay off some bills and treat her friends and family with her winnings, according to OLG.
“I would love to take my family on a trip for Christmas,” says Saunby.
The winning ticket was purchased at Convenience 121 on Lindsay Street in Fenelon Falls.
