One person was taken to hospital with critical injuries after a collision involving a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle on Sunday (July 18).

At approximately 10:20 p.m. Sunday, emergency crews responded to a collision on Highway 12 near County Road 169 in Ramara Township.

Police say the driver of the passenger vehicle involved was taken to local hospital with critical injuries and later airlifted to a Toronto hospital. The driver of the transport was uninjured, according to the OPP.

The highway was closed for several hours for the investigation. Police say the reopening of the roadways was further delayed to accommodate the safe removal and inspection of the commercial vehicle. All roads have since reopened.
