Passenger suffers serious injuries after Uxbridge collision

A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Uxbridge on Wednesday (July 14).

According to Durham Regional Police, officers were called to a collision at Sanford Road and Regional Road 1 at approximately 12:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say a black Honda was eastbound on Sandford Road when the driver failed to stop for the stop sign at Regional Road 1. A black Nissan was travelling northbound on Regional Road 1 and struck the passenger side of the Honda.

“The passenger of the Honda, a 21-year-old female, was taken to a trauma centre in Toronto with serious injuries but is in stable condition,” reads a statement from DRPS.

“The driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old male, is facing charges for Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.”
