A 30-year-old man has been charged following a vicious assault on a teenager in Oshawa.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to a residence in the area of Birchcliffe Avenue and Lakeview Park Avenue for an assault Sunday (July 11).

“Officers arrived and located the victim who was suffering from serious injuries to his face. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his serious injuries but is in stable condition,” reads a media release.

“Investigators identified the suspect and, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, executed a warrant at a residence on Birchcliffe Avenue. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident.”

Andre Manley of Oshawa is facing a total of 21 charges including aggravated assault and fail to comply with probation order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
