Vehicle allegedly clocked at 189 km/h on Highway 7

A 21-year-old motorist has been charged after allegedly driving more than 100 km/h over the posted limit on Highway 7 in Kawartha Lakes earlier this month.

According to the OPP, officers were conducting radar patrol on July 2 when they reportedly observed a motor vehicle travelling at 189 km/h in an 80-km/h zone.

The driver was charged with stunt driving.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for seven days and vehicle impounded for 14 days as part of the offence, police noted.
