Man charged following weekend incident in downtown Beaverton

A man is facing charges following an incident in downtown Beaverton Saturday (July 3) night.

While few details have been released, the DRPS noted in an email that a man was failing to comply with a release order and was evading arrest inside an apartment on Simcoe Street.

The canine unit and police helicopter were both called during a brief standoff with officers.

According to posts on social media from witnesses, the man also gained access to the adjacent restaurant before his arrest.

Thomas Summerville, 47, of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of fail to comply with an undertaking and one count of possession of Schedule I substance (crystal meth).
