Driver charged following single-vehicle collision near Lindsay

A Lindsay motorist is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision Thursday (June 24).

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers were called to the collision on Slanted Road shortly after 11 a.m.

“The collision caused the road to be closed for two hours and the driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries,” reads a media release.

“An investigation revealed the driver of the motor vehicle had consumed alcoholic beverages.”

Nicholas Aldred, 23, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

They are scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Aug. 12.
