A Whitby man was seriously injured after being thrown from his motorcycle in rural Oshawa Sunday (June 20).
According to the DRPS, officers were called to the man’s home shortly after 5:30 p.m. in relation a medical emergency that resulted from incident at Winchester Road and Townline Road North.
“Police were called after the motorcycle rider had returned home and was experiencing a medical emergency,” a media release reads.
Police say the 51-year-old driver was headed eastbound on Winchester when he entered the S-bend.
“As the driver continued south and attempted to negotiate the second curve to continue east, he lost control of his motorcycle,” the media release reads.
“The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He returned home where police were called and Durham Paramedic Services transported him to a local hospital.”
He was then airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.
The man is currently listed in critical but stable condition, police noted.
