A 16-year-old has died after the vehicle he was driving struck a tree in Uxbridge early Monday (June 21).
Shortly after 6:30 a.m., Durham Regional Police were called to Concession Road 6, south of Wagg Road for a report of a single-vehicle collision.
Police say the vehicle was travelling north on Concession Road 6 when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
“The motor vehicle incurred severe damage, trapping the male driver inside,” reads a release from police.
“Emergency Services attended the scene and the male was extricated and rushed to local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was the only occupant of the motor vehicle.”
Officers attended the scene for the investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
