A motorist with a suspended licence was allegedly caught driving impaired in Kawartha Lakes last week.
According to the OPP, an officer observed a vehicle believed to be operated by a suspended driver at some point last Thursday (June 3).
“The ensuing investigation confirmed that the operators driver’s licence was suspended. Further investigation revealed that the driver was impaired by alcohol, resulting in the arrest,” reads a media release.
Richard Clarke, 56, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and drive motor vehicle – no licence.
They are scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on June 17.
The vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days as part of the offence, police noted.
