Police searching for suspect after young girl approached in Uxbridge

Police are looking to identify a suspect and vehicle after a young girl was approached in Uxbridge on Tuesday(June 1)  afternoon.

According to the DRPS, the nine-year-old was was playing in the area of Wheler Court around 3:30 p.m. when a woman standing next to a red vehicle reportedly approached her and asked the young female to meet her daughter.

“The young girl went home, locked the door and reported the incident to a parent,” reads a media release.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have video surveillance or witnessed anything suspicious during that timeframe. ”

The suspect is described as in her 20s, with a tanned complexion and a large build. She had black hair in a ponytail and was wearing purple pants. The vehicle is only described as a dirty red mini-van or possibly a SUV.
