Brock Township will be asking Durham Region to address safety issues at the intersection of Regional Road 15 and Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2).

Ward 1 Councillor Mike Jubb and Ward 2 Councillor Claire Doble brought forward a motion calling for the municipality to request traffic safety improvements at the rural intersection at Monday (May 31) night’s meeting.

“It’s a problematic intersection,” said Coun. Jubb, noting that there’s been a number of serious collisions there over the years.

The motion was supported unanimously.

The stretch of Simcoe Street north of the intersection is maintained by Brock Township and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
