
A Lindsay woman is facing charges after police received received a report of a possible impaired driver at a business on Kent Street West.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, the call was received around 6:35 p.m. Monday (May 31).
“Officers located the vehicle and prevented the driver from entering the roadway. The investigating officer observed the female driver as she consumed alcohol and attempted to conceal the bottle,” reads a media release.
“While speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed her under arrest.”
Debbie Collins, 45, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and two charges each in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Act.
She is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on July 8.
