A 24-year-old Oshawa man is facing charges after allegedly travelling at nearly twice the posted speed limit on Highway 12 on Thursday (May 27).
According to a social media post from the DRPS, the vehicle was stopped in the area of Concession 4 Brock around 4 p.m.
Not only was the vehicle allegedly clocked at 153 km/h in an 80-km/h zone, the motorist was reportedly observed “driving in a careless manner and overtaking traffic.”
The driver, whose name has not been released, has been charged with stunt driving, speeding and careless driving.
“The vehicle is impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence is suspended for seven days,” the post concludes.
