Despite more backtracking from the provincial government, the splash pad at the Beaverton Harbour won’t be opening this weekend.
The Ford government revised its reopening plan late Friday (May 21), just a day after it had been released, allowing splash pads to reopen along with other recreational amenities.
But it will take a bit of work before the one in Brock opens for the summer.
“The opening process is not just turning on the taps,” said Mayor John Grant.
“Too bad the Premier issues openings at 4 p.m. on a Friday of a long weekend.”
A firm date for its reopening should be announced next week, Grant noted.
