A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Oshawa Tuesday (May 18) night.

According to the DRPS, officers were called to the area of Centre Street North and Brock Street West for a stabbing around 7:30 p.m.

“An altercation had ensued between the victim and suspect and the victim was subsequently stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim has since been released,” reads a media release.

“The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The victim and suspect are known to each other.”

KellyAldred, 51, of Oshawa has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of weapons dangerous to the public, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

She was held for a bail hearing.
