After surpassing the 100-case milestone less than one month ago, new cases in Brock Township have driven the pandemic total to 150.
Of the 150 total cases confirmed in the municipality by the Durham Region Health Department since the onset of the pandemic, 135 have been resolved. Tragically, two of the cases have resulted in deaths.
Over the past week, 12 new COVID-19 cases have been declared in the Township: six on May 6, two on May 10, three on May 11 and one on May 12.
There are currently 1,164 active cases in Durham Region – 1,088 in home isolation and 76 in hospital (29 in ICU). Of the nearly 23,000 cases confirmed in the Region, 93 per cent have been resolved.
A total of 349 deaths – including 218 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19, including two in Brock Township.
