Traffic complaint leads to charges for Coboconk teen

An 18-year-old motorist from Coboconk is facing charges following a traffic complaint.

According to the OPP, an officer responded to a report related to a vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed on Highway 35, north of Coboconk, on Tuesday (May 11).

“The officer located the vehicle and the ensuing investigation revealed the presence of alcohol and cannabis in the vehicle,” reads a media release.

Niklas Savoie has been charged with race a motor vehicle – excessive speed, driving a motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on June 2.

“The vehicle was towed from the scene,” the media release reads.
