Lane restrictions coming on multiple regional roads

Scheduled work will lead to some lane restrictions on multiple roads throughout Durham Region in the coming weeks.

The roads slated for improvements include:

Regional Road 57 in both the Municipality of Clarington and the Township of Scugog;
Shirley Road (Regional Road 19) in the Township of Scugog;
Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the Township of Scugog;
Harmony Road (Regional Road 33) in the City of Oshawa;
Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa;
Myrtle Road (Regional Road 5) in the Town of Whitby and City of Oshawa;
Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) in the Towns of Whitby and Ajax; and
Brock Road (Regional Road 1) in the City of Pickering.

The work – which includes routing and sealing of roadway asphalt cracks – is slated to run from May 10 to June 4, though unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

“The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews,” reads a notice from the Region.
