Eight new cases of COVID-19 reported in Brock Township

Eight new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Brock Township in recent days, bringing the total to 138 since the pandemic emerged.

Two cases were confirmed on April 30 and May 2, with a single case reported on May 4 and three on May 5. Nineteen cases are currently active in the municipality with all impacted residents in home isolation.

There are currently 1,853 active cases in Durham Region – 1,766 in home isolation and 87 in hospital (30 in ICU). Ninety percent of the nearly 22,000 cases confirmed have been resolved.

A total of 342 deaths – including 218 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19, including two in Brock Township.
