Two people wanted on outstanding warrants arrested in Lindsay

Two people wanted on outstanding warrants were arrested in Lindsay Friday (April 30).

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, an officer in the area of Mary Street West in Lindsay observed a male operating a motor vehicle who was was known to Police to have outstanding warrants.

“A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested on the strength of the warrants,” reads a media release.

“During the investigation it was determined the licence plates on the vehicle were stolen and the driver was prohibited from driving.”

Cody Vaughan, 34, of Norland has been charged with fail to attend court, eight counts of breach probation, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

He also facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act, police say.

Vaughan was held for a bail hearing and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle – a 31-year-old woman – was also wanted on a warrant and arrested, police said.
