An online fundraiser has been organized for a woman that was left paralyzed following a collision in the Lindsay area this week.
The CAMPAIGN in support of Jessi Rate has generated more than $72,000 since the collision on Highway 35, south of Lindsay, on Tuesday (April 20).
According to a post, she has been left paralyzed from the waist down and will never walk again.
At the time of the collision, Rate was eight months pregnant. The baby — a girl named Starlett — was delivered via emergency C-section.
“She is doing well, but please still keep her and Jessi in your thoughts,” reads an update on the fundraising page.
Rate also has a three-year-old son, Levi, and a young step-son named Peeta, who she shares with her boyfriend Mason.
“Anyone who knows Jess knows what a great person she is. She has a huge heart and is full of light and happiness. She is strong and resilient, but this young family will need help getting back on their feet. Please find it in your heart to help this young family in their time of need,” a post accompanying the fundraiser reads.
