
As of Friday (April 9) morning, six new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Brock Township in the past week.
According to the Durham Region Health Department, there are currently nine active cases in the municipality – eight residents are in home isolation, while another has been hospitalized.
Thirteen of the local cases have involved variants of concern.
Overall, there have been 15,466 confirmed cases in Durham – 4,517 in Ajax, 3,411 in Pickering, 3,158 in Oshawa, 2,558 in Whitby, 1,190 in Clarington, 312 in Uxbridge, 295 in Scugog and 76 in Brock Township. Two other cases are under investigation.
There are 1372 active cases across the region – 1,323 residents are in home isolation, with 49 currently hospitalized.
A total of 309 deaths, including 217 at long-term care and retirement homes, have been attributed to COVID-19.
A total of 13,785 cases have been resolved, which represents 89 per cent of the total.
