Three new cases of COVID-19 reported in Brock last week

Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Brock last week.

Two of the cases were reported on March 23 and another on March 26, bringing the municipal total to 68 since the pandemic emerged more than a year ago.

As of Tuesday (March 30), there are two active cases in the municipality – one resident has been hospitalized and the other is in isolation.

Eleven of the local cases have involved variants of concern.

Overall, there have been 13,918 confirmed cases in Durham – 4,069 in Ajax, 3,068 in Pickering, 2,845 in Oshawa, 2,335 in Whitby, 1,051 in Clarington, 270 in Uxbridge, 211 in Scugog and 68 in Brock Township.

A total of 963 residents are in home isolation, with 34 currently hospitalized.

A total of 307 deaths – including 217 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 12,614 cases have been resolved, which represents 91 per cent of the total.
