A Beaverton home lies in ruin following a fire Monday (March 22).
The fire broke out at a home on Concession 6 Thorah, west of Simcoe Street, around 3:30 p.m.
“Upon arrival, crews found a single family dwelling with heavy fire conditions. A defensive attack was conducted due to conditions,” said Brock Township Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Ward.
Firefighters from all three Township halls were called in to assist.
While no injuries were reported, a dog belonging to one of the occupants perished in the blaze.
Firefighters were called back to the property Tuesday (March 23) morning.
“The house is a total loss having now had to be demolished by the fire department to ensure no further extension of fire,” Deputy Chief Ward said.
A cause has not yet been determined.
