Two days after being sworn in as Brock Township’s new mayor, John Grant has completed the declaration of office for regional council.

Grant, who was appointed mayor during a special session of township council on Monday (March 15), formally joined regional council Wednesday (March 17).

He previously served as Brock’s regional representative from 2006 to 2010 and as mayor from 2014 to 2018, in addition to several terms as a ward councillor.

His appointment fills the vacancy left by the death of Debbie Bath-Hadden on Jan. 24.
