Police are investigating after several gunshots were fired on Mud Lake over the weekend.

According to the DRPS, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. Friday (Feb. 26) in the area of Uxbridge Concession Road 5, south of Zephyr Road, in Uxbridge.

“The complainant was on Mud Lake with his family when they witnessed the male suspect firing off rounds near the lake. The family went to their vehicle and heard shots being fired in their direction,” reads a media release.

“When the family drove away, the suspect followed them in his vehicle and pursued them at a high rate of speed. The victims were able to lose the suspect and called police when they arrived home.”

Forensic evidence was collected at the scene, police noted.

“The investigation is ongoing and investigators were at the scene over the weekend speaking to nearby residents,” the media release reads.
