
A motorist has been charged with stunt driving after a vehicle was allegedly clocked at more than twice the posted speed limit on Kawartha Lakes 48.
According to the OPP, an officer on patrol stopped the vehicle on Saturday (Feb. 27) after observing the vehicle travelling at 162km/h in an 80-km/h zone.
“The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle,” reads a media release.
“The driver was charged with the Highway Traffic Act infraction of stunt driving and was issued a driver’s licence suspension. The vehicle was also towed from the scene and will be impounded for seven days.”
