Brock Township Regional Councillor Ted Smith has announced that he plans on running in the upcoming mayoral by-election.

While nominations won’t open for roughly a month, Coun. Smith made the announcement at Monday’s (Feb. 22) meeting of council as members discussed options to fill the vacancy.

Smith was first elected regional councillor in 2014 and won re-election in the 2018 race.

He previously served two terms as councillor for Ward 5.
