Man charged with assault with a weapon following altercation at dog park

A Kawartha Lakes man has been charged with assault with a weapon following an altercation at a dog park.

According to the OPP, officers were called to assist paramedics on Monday (Feb. 22).

‘The ensuing investigation indicated that an altercation between dog owners had occurred, resulting in one party receiving minor injuries when struck by the other,” reads a media release.

“There were no reported injuries in relation to the dogs.”

A photo of the alleged suspect brandishing a wooden club was shared on social media soon after the incident.

Patrick Cullen, 39, has been charged with assault with a weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on March 11.
