Charges have been laid after an officer was allegedly assaulted while responding to a family dispute in Lindsay.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, an adult has been arrested and charged for assault and mischief to property.

“During the investigation an officer was assaulted when the accused kicked him multiple times and threatened him,” reads a media release.

The accused has also been charged with assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to cause bodily harm, police said. They were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
