Police called to Whitby school after two children injured

Update — Police noted shortly after 12:30 p.m. that a 12-year-old boy has been transported from a local hospital to a Toronto trauma centre. The Ministry of Labour has also been called in to investigate. A snowplow toppled a fence at the school, trapping the two children.

Police have responded to Julie Payette Public School in Whitby after two students were injured on the propery Tuesday (Feb. 16) morning.

While few details are available, a social media post from the DRPS notes that one child has been taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“Parents of the involved victims have been notified,” the post reads.
