A team from The Nourish and Develop Foundation is getting ready to bundle up for the Coldest Night of the Year, an annual fundraiser for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.
Set for Feb. 20, this year’s event will be held virtually with participants organizing individually or in team bubbles selecting their own safe walk route near home at a time convenient for them.
Started in 2011, the event has grown from two locations to nearly 150 across the country and more than $33,500,000 has been raised.
“The idea of people walking in the cold to get a hint of what it might be like to experience homelessness isn’t unique. Charities across North America have been doing variations of this fundraiser for years. CNOY merely took the concept and built on it for the benefit of many more charities,” reads the event website.
Six members from The Nourish and Develop Foundation will be taking part in the event in support of North House.
